Chinese Reflexology Stomach Point

The Stomach point is actually larger than the first segment of your thumb (see dotted outline in the diagram). However, because this point overlaps with a couple of other digestive points, it’s best to focus on just the top portion of the Stomach. This will minimize the chances of experiencing detox symptoms because the other two digestive points (pancreas and duodenum) are often extremely sensitive for many people.

How to Massage Your Stomach Point

Since your thumb is already in the right place, simply pivot your thumb 90 degrees, and use your thumb pad to massage your Stomach point in an up and down direction, where up is toward the toes and down is toward the heel. Massage for 15 seconds per foot.

Don’t be surprised if you hear a grumbling sound in your stomach when you massage this point. Your stomach is responding to the increase of qi and blood flowing through the area. I often hear a gurgle when I rub my own digestive points.
